Help trying to tame a dwarf hamster :(?

Ouch. I've been really patient, but he just doesn't like to be touched or anything. I've gave him treats from between my fingers every day. He can handle that. So I tried putting my hand in a little every night. He just bites my thumb. Finally he stopped that, so tonight I tried to put a treat on my hand and let him climb to get it. He attacked my thumb, he kept biting and wouldn't get off. It hurts so bad, it drew blood.and now I don't even want to try. I've heard some dwarf hamsters can't be tamed well and I think that's the case with mine. It's disappointing. :( What should I do?
